About me

I am currently a Senior Applied Scientist at DEFCON AI and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to these appointments, I was a (tenure track) Assistant Professor within the same department. I received a PhD from the MIT Operations Research Center in 2020 and a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh in 2015.

I am broadly interested in optimization, machine learning, and statistics. At the moment I am particularly interested in developing algorithms for discrete/geometric optimization problems, learning Markov chain models, and solving linear inequality systems. I talk about some of these on this Optimizing You podcast. My research was/still is supported by AFOSR, CDC, and ONR.
